The Mutual Society

The Mutual Society was founded on 1st June 1992 out of the need to maintain communication links with participants both between and after completion of the five Basic Course modules.

The benefits of membership are:

  • Low subscription rate (a spin off of the large membership).
  • Receipt of the highly acclaimed NEWSLETTER.
  • The opportunity to attend the Annual Seminar at a very reasonable cost and also hear the views of world renowned experts in the field of spinal research and therapy.
  • The facility to repeat McKenzie Institute (UK) Trust course modules (Parts A and B) at half-price.

REQUIREMENTS FOR ASSOCIATE MEMBERSHIP
OF THE McKENZIE INSTITUTE (UK) MUTUAL SOCIETY

An Associate Member has most of the privileges of a General Member but has no voting rights.

To obtain associate membership of the McKenzie Institute (UK) Trust Mutual Society the applicant shall:

  • Have an interest in or support the Aims and Objectives of The Institute.
  • Have completed at least “Part A – The Lumbar Spine”, of The Institute’s Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy courses.
  • Have completed the application form of The Mutual Society and returned this to the Treasurer along with the current subscription fee and photocopies of McKenzie Institute course attendance certificates.

REQUIREMENTS FOR GENERAL MEMBERSHIP
OF THE McKENZIE INSTITUTE (UK) MUTUAL SOCIETY

To obtain general membership of the McKenzie Institute (UK) Trust Mutual Society and accompanying voting rights, the applicant must:

  • Meet all of the criteria listed above for associate membership.
  • Be a permanent resident of the United Kingdom.
  • Hold one or both of the following qualifications:-

A pass certificate in the McKenzie Institute’s Credentialling Examination.

The Diploma in Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy (Dip MDT.) of the McKenzie Institute International.

General Members names and professional addresses are published in a Register which is available to referring medical practitioners and interested members of the public. Copies are obtainable on the website under ‘Therapists’ or by contacting the (UK) Trust.
